How to Unzip DJ Drop files using a Windows PC or Mac

Hello All!

Brandon here -- as many of you may have noticed (or will notice), to help keep things organized when delivering your DJ Drops & order files via email, I will "zip" any delivery that includes five (5) or more files to a compressed "zipped" folder. I understand not everyone is computer savvy, and may run into issues or confusion when it comes time to download your delivery file and open or "extract" the individual drop files out of the compressed file. Please do not think you received a single file if you purchased a 10 DJ Drops Mega Pack -- no no, your individual drop files are simply inside. This also applies to ANY of the DJ Sound Effects or Vocal Sample packs that are available for instant download. All of these packs will be downloaded as a compressed (zipped) file as well.

Well - I am here to help guide you with step-by-step instructions if you happen run into issues opening the file. Please see below for how to open a compressed "zipped" file for both Windows PC and a Mac.

*I always recommend using a laptop or traditional computer for unzipping and saving your files, but I'm also including direction for how to save your files using an iPhone or Android. This will prove more challenging, but it is possible.

WINDOWS PC INSTRUCTIONS:

To unzip a compressed file on a Windows PC, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the compressed file.
  2. Select "Extract All" from the context menu.
  3. A pop-up window will appear, asking where you want to extract the files. Choose a destination folder or create a new one.
  4. Click "Extract."
  5. The files will be extracted and placed in the destination folder.

Alternatively, you can use third-party software such as 7-Zip, WinRAR, or WinZip to extract compressed files on a Windows PC.

MAC INSTRUCTIONS:

To unzip a compressed file on a Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Double-click the compressed file to open it.
  2. The compressed file will automatically extract to a new folder with the same name as the compressed file.
  3. The extracted files will be in the new folder.

Alternatively, you can use third-party software such as The Unarchiver, Keka, or WinZip to extract compressed files on a Mac.

iPHONE INSTRUCTIONS:

To save individual files inside a compressed file on an iPhone, you need to use an app that supports unzipping. Here's a general process to save individual files from a compressed file on an iPhone:

  5. Tap on the individual file you want to save.
  6. Tap on the "Share" icon (usually represented by an upward-facing arrow).
  7. Select "Save to Files" from the list of options.
  8. Choose a location where you want to save the file.

Note: The exact steps may vary depending on the app you are using.

ANDROID INSTRUCTIONS:

To save individual files inside a compressed file on an Android phone, you need to use an app that supports unzipping. Here's a general process to save individual files from a compressed file on an Android phone:

  1. Download and install an app that supports unzipping, such as WinZip, ZArchiver, or RAR.
  2. Open the app and locate the compressed file.
  3. Tap on the compressed file to open it.

I truly hope this guide helps -- but of course if you still find yourself stuck and frustrated for how to save your files -- please do not hesitate to get in touch with me directly for further assistance.

Until next time,

Brandon
